How to use your garage space effectively

Everybody thinks the garage is where you park your car, and that's it. It's so much more than that, it's space. Do you know what that means? If you use it to your advantage, you could use it to store a lot of items that are taking up too much space in your property.

Add storage to the walls

There are a couple different ways to do this, the first is you can mount hooks, bracks and other hardware on the walls to get you going, The best way we’ve found is by adding a layer of plywood over the wall which will give you a fastening surface so you can mount storage hardware easily. This will leave you to arrange items in a space-efficient way that works for you.

Up top!

Space is space, regardless if it’s up high or down low. A lot of people don't think about it, but the space up the top near the ceiling is a really great use of space, but depending how high it is I would only recommend that for long term storage.

Always wanted a work Bench? Now’s your chance.

Don’t compromise and get a smaller car so you can get a workbench. Build yourself a space-saving workbench instead. For this, you'll need a 2x4 pair of strong hinges, a couple of threaded pipes and flanges, and a handful of screws. For a work surface, we'd recommend a 30-inch solid core door, but you’re welcome to use whatever suits your needs. When setting up the workbench just screw the pipes into the flanges.
